This number is expected to rise by 2030 and there will be 1.2 billion menopausal and post-menopausal women globally with 47 million new women in this initiation each year.
The transition of perimenopause begins at age 35 and can last on average until age 51 when most women experience menopause or til age 55.
Over 75% of women experience disruptive symptoms and many go undiagnosed and untreated for years.
The Truth is that 80% of doctors and healthcare practitioners are NOT adequately trained to address menopause and the research for menopause and women’s health is years behind. This is leaving women to navigate this transition alone.
Perimenopause—(the stage before menopause) the most hormonally turbulent phase—can last four to eight years, bringing unpredictable symptoms that impact energy, focus, and well-being. For high-achieving women, balancing career and family demands while managing these changes can feel overwhelming, with little societal support.
A study conducted by Newson Health Research and Education reveals that a third of women waited at least three years for their symptoms to be correctly labelled as menopause-related, while a further 18% visited their doctor six times before they got the help they needed.
